On Sunday the 16th, my family's CUTE dog of 12 years passed away.
As for the details:
My parents have been out of town all week in Hawaii so we have been trading off days to check on Willard. On Saturday morning I got a call from some of my parent's sweet neighbors (they were so great to help him until they got a hold of us) saying that Willard was laying in their dogs kennel, breathing, but not moving. Hunter drove to the rescue and picked him up. We sat at my parent's house with Willard, frantically calling every vet in the city. We were finally able to get him in about 1:00 in the afternoon (about 9 hours after he was injured).
The poor thing had to be hooked up to an IV, given pain medications and all of his wounds had to be flushed out (so sad to watch). He had holes in his back and neck from the bite marks of a bigger dog but luckily nothing was broken. After sitting at the vet's office for a few hours, he was put in a kennel, IV's flowing, in hopes of recuperating for the rest of the night.
Sunday morning, the vet called with an update letting us know that Willard didn't make it. I was a complete wreck (still am). Anyway, Hunter had to pick him up and bury him, as well as call my parents and officially ruin the last 3 days of their trip (Derek and Harmony's as well). Willard was my mom's best buddy! I know it broke her heart that she wasn't there to say goodbye. I am sure that Daisy will be SO sad when her best friend isn't there to give her a kiss when she comes through the door. It makes me so sad that he had to die that way. He was such a cute dog and was just like a member of the family.
Hunter has been my hero through all of this! He has had to do all the awful things that I couldn't and hasn't complained once! Thanks Hunter!
Oh, something I forgot to mention that was SO CUTE... Caleb came over on Sunday and I was still having a hard time. He said "It's OK Steph. Willard will be resurrected!" That kid has got it all figured out! Thanks Caleb ;)

Oh Willard! I am so sorry to hear about the accident. I am just going to say one more time...STUPID DOGS! I hate that we love them so much and that they are such a huge part of our families. At least we have each other to call and cry dog stories to ha ha. Will and Molly are TOTALLY crusing around in heaven...I just know it! :)
Steph and Hunter,
I can't believe that Willard is gone. He was such a fun friend. He reminded me so much of our little Magic. Give your mom a hug for me. I know how hard that is. He had such an awesome personality. We will miss him so much too.
Meesh
Oh Im so sorry!!! If you would like, Dasiy and Kia could play, I know that will not replace a good friend, but maybe help with a new one! Let me know, Agian, Im sorry about your loss!
