Hunter's Elk

Hunter drew an Elk tag this year at Fishlake!   He was pretty excited and spent every weekend for at least two months prior to opening day scouting.  At about 7:00 in the morning on OPENING DAY, I got a picture text with Hunter and his elk!  I could not believe he had already shot something, but I should have known better because he is not one to waste time!  As you can see, all his hard work paid off!
Thanks to his dad, brothers, some uncles, cousins, and good friends - he was able to get this big boy out in no time!
I cannot get enough of this scenery.  What an amazing place to hunt!

Way to go Hunter!  You worked so hard and we are all glad to say that it was well worth it!  Thanks for everyone's help and to Hunter's uncle Kreig for some absolutely beautiful pictures!  Now - WHERE WILL I PUT THIS THING WHEN IT GETS MOUNTED?!?.....

Yay for Hunter!! Thats a nice Elk!! Thats awesome he got it opening day! All that scouting really does pay off! I will have to show Craig these pictures, he will be excited for him. So where is that bad boy going to be hung??? You're probably a better wife than me and allow it in the family room front and center! Craig's Elk found a great home down stairs in our unfinished basement, on the unfinished wall.. Yes I am wife of the year! haha

Wow! Yay Hunter! That is a nice looking one! Steph.. I sure hope it's not in your living room the next time I'm over. I'm sure Hunter will find a good spot for it though. ;)

Rock on Hunter! Next time you have a hankering to mail something to Japan, slap some elk meat in there for me! As for the rack, you should definitely mount it on your truck. That would be so cool. Ha ha! Better yet, send 'em to me and I'll mount 'em on my tiny Japanese minivan. :-)
Anyway, congrats.
